Aphoto of a Taliban fighter posing in front of a bookshelf from where former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh recorded a video has gone viral on social media. The viral photo came out after Rohullah Saleh, Amrullah's elder brother, was reportedly killed in clashes with the Taliban.

In the viral photo, shared by many pro-Taliban Twitter accounts and local Afghan journalists, the Taliban fighter could be seen sitting next to the bookshelf holding a gun.

According to reports, Amrullah Saleh had released a video message from the same spot, announcing that he would not leave the country and resist the Taliban's advances in Panjshir province.

Amrullah Saleh had denied reports about him leaving Afghanistan after the Taliban claimed full control over Panjshir province. The National Resistance Front (NRF) supporters have also rejected the Taliban's claim, saying that the NRF fighters continue to occupy strategic positions in the province.

Zahir Aghbar, envoy to Tajikistan under the government of ousted Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, said that he was in regular contact with Amrullah Saleh and that the resistance leaders in Panjshir were out of general communication for security reasons.
